Bosch Cooker Hoods
When choosing your new Bosch Cooker Hood the hood you should make sure that it is powerful enough to change the air in your kitchen 12 times per hour. To calculate the volume of your kitchen, multiply length x width x height. An average room is approximately 25m3; therefore the extraction rate required for the average room is 200 to 300m3h. The minimum required as specified in the building regulations for new kitchens effective April 1990 is 108m3h.
The next thing to consider when choosing a cooker hood is the noise. If it’s too noisy you will not use it, especially if you have an open plan kitchen. This is where buying the cheapest is a false economy as many of the cheaper hoods are normally the noisiest. When comparing the noise of two hoods, use the same extraction rate as the more powerful hoods may be nosier at their maximum extraction rate but quieter at a lower setting which still exceeds the maximum extraction rate of a cheaper hood.
