Midea Group is a major Chinese home-appliance and HVAC conglomerate founded in 1968 in the small town of Beijiao, Shunde (Foshan) as a modest workshop producing bottle caps. By 1980 it diversified into electric fans and released its first air conditioner in 1985, evolving into a global powerhouse with over 38 R&D centres, 44+ manufacturing bases across China, Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe, and the Americas, and nearly 200,000 employees. Today, Midea manufactures an extensive array of products—including air conditioners (both residential and commercial), refrigerators, washing machines, dishwashers, ovens, small kitchen appliances (like microwaves, kettles, blenders), vacuum cleaners, water dispensers, and floor-care devices. Recognised as the world's largest producer of major and small appliances, as well as a leader in HVAC systems and microwave ovens, Midea continues expanding its global reach while pioneering innovations.
